The Java language allows developpers to write applications in different areas
that run on a large number of platforms. This talk will discuss some of the
design principles of Java. Further, remarks are given about the applicability
of Java in various domains. An illustration of an Open Source Java Project that
is used by many Java Programmers is the JUnit testing framework, available
from SourceForge. During the talk, the use of JUnit in designing, implementing
and testing Java applications will be demonstrated.
