OpenOffice.org Accessibility - past, present and future
Accessibility support in OOo is a very important thing, and the demand becomes higher and higher. We started our Accessibility efforts with OOo 1.1 by supporting the Java Accessibility API. Many things had changed since then. We now have native support for GNOME Accessibility and for Mac Accessibility. We have developed a very complete accessibility API for OOo (UAA), and IBM derived IA2 from it to fill the Accessibility API gaps on Windows. IA2 is well accepted meanwhile, and it's time to get IA2 support into OOo, which will be a big improvement for OOo's Accessibility on Windows.
This presentation will give a short overview about accessibility support in OOo, what's going on (like finally getting IA2 into OOo now) and what plans and ideas we have for future releases.
