Within the NoSQL landscape graph database are becoming a more and more considerable choice for managing complex interconnected data. Unfortunately there had not been very much vendor interoperability yet. The Tinkerpop projects started to overcome these limitations and today provide a common graphdb access layer and toolset within the Java world. But Blueprints.NET, rexster.NET and pipes.NET are not only ports of these Java libraries to the .NET / Mono platform, they exceed them by making a heavy use of latest developments like the Dynamic Language Runtime and the Task Parallel Library. The talk will give a short overview on the basics of graph databases, the porting and developing efforts of the libraries and present several cool applications for graph databases based on these libraries.
