Ken Preslan
OpenGFS
Project:
OpenGFS

Ken Preslan started working on the GFS project back in the summer of 1997. Even though the name of the organization has changed a number of times (UMN, Sistina, Red Hat), the goal of the project is the same -- to produce a reliable and efficient cluster filesystem and associated cluster infrastructure. Ken's main focus has always been the core filesystem itself. He designed and implemented the locking, journaling, and quota subsystems, among many others.
Ken's talk will focus on recent and upcoming developments, including a general purpose cluster manager and distributed lock manager and performance improvements in the filesystem itself. |
