Tom is a keen and long-term open source contributor, focusing for the last few years on the Go programming language. Key projects he has contributed to include chezmoi for personal dotfile management, go-geom for geospatial applications as used in CockroachDB, and the OpenLayers JavaScript mapping library. At work, Tom works on Cilium, eBPF-based networking, observability, and security. Away from the keyboard, he is a keen long distance paraglider pilot, ski tourer, and trail runner.
