Liam Proven
Liam Proven is a British/Irish technical writer from Prague. With experience in several dozen operating systems going back to the 1980s, he is now OS-agnostic — all his favourites being long discontinued or dead. This has made him a strong advocate of FOSS.
He has written for about fifteen different print computer magazines including PC Pro and PC Magazine, and three high-profile tech-news websites including The Register and Heise. He now works for SUSE in the Czech Republic, documenting its enterprise Linux products.
A particular journalistic as well as hobby interest is retrocomputing, and he feels that study of long-gone computer platforms could teach the industry today a lot about where it will go in the future.
