Curtis Poe
Ovid works with All Around the World, a consulting firm that specializes in tackling the complex/big jobs that companies struggle to handle themselves. They've built ETL systems for pharmaceutical companies. They've built code to monitor continent-wide networks in real time. They're also building Tau Station, the world's first narrative sci-fi MMORPG.
Ovid started programming in the early 80s and has written software in Basic, 6809 Assembler, C, Java, Prolog, COBOL, Perl, Javascript, and a few others. Due to a weird series of events, he found himself specializing in Perl for two decades. He's written many popular testing tools for it, including the initial version of the test harness that currently ships with the language.
On a personal note, he's lived in the US, Japan, the UK, the Netherlands, and now France. He's happily married, with the world's most beautiful daughter, and write novels (nothing published) in what little spare time he has.
