Gabor is a long time contributor to various open source Perl projects. The biggest project he started is <a href="http://padre.perlide.org/">Padre, the Perl IDE</a> but he is also the maintainer of the <a href="http://www.cpanforum.com/">CPAN::Forum</a> and a few modules on CPAN.



Gabor was the organizer of a number of YAPCs Perl Workshops and an OSDC in Israel.



Gabor founded and runs the <a href="http://perl-ecosystem.org/">Perl Ecosystem Group</a> that aims to bridge the gap between companies using Perl and the Open Source Perl Community.



Gabor received the White Camel Award in 2008 for his contribution to the Perl community and the HaMakor Award in 2009 for his contribution to the Israeli Free and Open Source community.
