News Discussion

Axel Hecht, Gervase Markham, Tristan Nitot

The topics of this discussion will include, but not be limited to

News Application development using Mozilla as a platform

Alex Fritze

This talk is going to be about two new Mozilla extensions that I've been developing for use in the Mozilla-based Crocodile Maths interactive geometry software:
- jssh: a Mozilla tcp/ip javascript shell server (& corresponding emacs mode) for connecting to a live Mozilla process
- xtl: a framework for plugging new XML tags into Gecko using C++ or JS.

News Layout debugging and triaging

Bernd Mielke

The mozilla layout component is under permament pressure from bugs that lack testcases and a clear indication where the problem is. This talk will show how using the mozilla components these bugs can be modified so that they become clear and fixable. The second part of the talk will describe debug features that help finding the cause of these bugs.

News Mozilla Localization Status Update

Robert Kaiser

Localization seems to get a more important topic in Mozilla development. I'll give an update about what has happened in the last year in this area, where are the problems for L10n currently, and where we'd need help from other developers.
