OpenBSD as house alarm system
Openbsd is not only good for network related projects
- Track: BSD devroom
- Room: K.3.401
- Day: Saturday
- Start: 15:35
- End: 16:20
since 1998 I've developed an alarm system based on the velleman K8000 kit. I've first build it with Linux (slackware), in 2010 I've moved to OpenBSD. I'll describe why OpenBSD is better matching my needs than Linux.
- I'll present the need: IR captors, integration with SMS, web interface
- what were the problem with linux
- how I've setup OpenBSD with a read only file system
- Why OpenBSD is perfectly matching those needs
- future plans
