Joao Martins

NEC Europe Ltd. established the NEC Laboratories Europe in 1994. Today, the laboratories are located in Heidelberg, Germany and Acton, UK. Research and development functions are integrated into the same organization to shorten the time to market of cutting-edge ICT technologies. Ongoing European projects include CHANGE and Trilogy2, with topics including fast packet I/O and software switching, MPTCP, middlebox processing, and virtualized content caches, to name a few. Joao Martins obtained his masters degree in Computers and Telematics Engineering at the University of Aveiro (2011). In 2012 he joined the Networked Systems and Data Analytics group at NEC Europe Ltd as a Research Associate, focusing on topics such as virtualization, operating systems, and network performance. He recently gave a talk about ClickOS at the Xen Project Developer Summit 2013.
