Wikidata is a new Wikimedia project that builds a free and open knowledgebase of structured data for Wikipedia and the world. The development started 2 years ago. Since then the project has grown rapidly. The project has taken off, a large community has gathered around it and a diverse 3rd-party ecosystem around it is growing. We want to take a look back and talk about what we learned while building the project and take a look at what is coming in the future for Wikimedia's shooting star.
