Wim Remes works as a security consultant in Belgium, specialized in network and systems security and identity and access management. Wim started in IT 12 years ago as a computer technician, moving on to a position as systems engineer quickly. He spent numerous hours in poorly lit computer rooms, tied up in UTP cabling and stuck between server closets and wears the scars with pride.

On the eternal journey that leads to security nirwana, Wim likes to explore the possibilities in open source projects to build solutions that work for his customer rather than to sell products that only work in the restricted mindframe of vendors.
