Has in the past helped with or initiated organisation of events such as protest manifestations on smaller and larger scales, political lectures, debates and art festivals. Treasurer for the local chapter of GroenLinks in The Hague and chairing the national working group on ICT of that same political party. He owns a small IT company, but spends much of his time on open-source projects, mainly mobilizing the community and driving promotion activities.
