Frans Schreuder works for the KVI (the Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut), a particle accelerator institute. Here he designs high-frequency circuits.

In his spare time, Frans is also an active volunteer at the Science Center Noord, a club for youth where they can learn about computers, programming, electronics and more. There was need for a cheap and easy-to-use programmer for the PICs, that are often used for learning programming embedded systems. That's why Frans started to create a new, fully open source USB PIC programmer.
