After getting involved in Wikipedia's localisation and Unicode support efforts in 2002, he was sucked into the shadowy world of LAMP web development, never to emerge. Brion today serves as CTO of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, leading development of the open-source MediaWiki platform and Wikipedia's technical infrastructure. He lives in San Francisco with his fiancée Marti, two cats, and a lot of books.
