Dries Buytaert is a Belgian programmer who created Drupal in 2001 and has led the software project ever since. He has guided it through rapid growth and to widespread acclaim.
Dries is currently a PhD. student in Computer Science in the Parallel Information Systems Group at the University of Ghent, Belgium.
In 2000 he founded Drupal, a GPL'd dynamic web site platform which allows an individual or community of users to publish, manage and organize a variety of content.
He's also an advisor on NowPublic, a citizen journalism website.
