PSPP

A lightning talk about PSPP: a Free replacement for SPSS.

The proprietary program called SPSS is widely used by the medics, psychologists and social scientists. For many years there has been no Free program to replace it. PSPP is an emulation of this proprietary program, designed to facilitate the transition to a Free desktop for traditonal SPSS users. I'll be presenting what PSPP currently does now, what it may do in the future and how it could interact with other Free Software programs.

About PSPP:

PSPP is a program for statistical analysis of sampled data. It interprets commands in the SPSS language and produces tabular output in ASCII, PostScript, or HTML format.

PSPP development is ongoing. It already supports a large subset of SPSS's transformation language. Its statistical procedure support is currently limited, but growing.
