In this talk, Gentoo/Recruiting co-lead and Gentoo java developer Petteri Räty, provides an overview of Java support for Gentoo Linux.
The Gentoo/Java project provides support for Java on everyone's favorite Linux distro, Gentoo Linux.
The project provides a wide variety of Java runtimes and development kits, applications, libraries, and utilities. This talk will provide an overview of what you can expect from Gentoo as a Java user or developer.
The Java team has for some years successfully used overlays as a way to involve users so this talk also provides ideas on how to get involved in Gentoo development using overlays.
