Marc Barbier
Marc Barbier is a Senior Researcher in Sciences and Technology Studies at the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) and director of the Research Unit “Science in Society”. His research interests and works contribute to the fields of social studies of knowledge regime in agriculture and of the governance of sustainability transitions under various pressures of change such as pesticide uses, emergent diseases, bioenergy and ecosystem services. He specialises in the longitudinal analysis of socio-economic and socio-political transformations of the agricultural word. This has driven him progressively to focus on quantitative approaches and on the semantic analysis of large textual corpuses. He led the CorTexT Platform of the Institute for Research Innovation and Society (IFRIS).
