Andy Georges
I work as an HPC sysadmin at Ghent University.
I am a computer scientist, with research interests into performance of computer systems and programs. I obtained my PhD (Three Pitfalls in Java Performance Evaluation) from Ghent University, and after a brief period of post-doc work, I started working as a sysadmin with the HPC team at Ghent University, Belgium. Currently my work mostly involves the scheduling system, the logging infrastructure and the user administration of our multi-cluster setup, as well as maintaining (and sometimes improving) a large collections of scripts. Most of my coding work is done in Python (2.x, yeah, I know ... should change soonish), with some C on the side. Outside of work I am keeping myself busy with Rust, Haskell, and reading SF and Fantasy while listening to the better metal music.
