Rich Sands is Principal at RSands Consulting, LLC, his own sole-proprietorship software industry consulting firm. RSands Consulting advises clients worldwide on business strategy and software developer relations, and provides product management and product marketing services with a special focus on the open source software model and its impact on business.
Rich honed his knowledge of developer initiatives leading the product management and marketing effort behind the successful open sourcing of the Java Platform for Sun Microsystems. In addition to a wide range of positions at Sun, Rich has held product management and product marketing positions at Black Duck Software, MariaDB, and Auth0.
