Otto Kekäläinen

Free Software Foundation Europe Finnish team coordinator, project lead for VALO-CD.net, CEO of Seravo Oy and recipient of the Nordic Free Software Award 2012 and Finnish Linux user group Deed Of The Year Award in 2010. In the last two years he has advanced Free Software in Finland, in particular within the public sector.

Otto Kekäläinen has 15 years of experience using, developing and promoting GNU/Linux based systems. During the last two years as the FSFE Finnish team coordinator, he has been involved in increasing Free Software (Open Source) usage in the public administration in Finland. Work has included among others helping politicians push city council initiatives, helping officials draft guidelines and fighting obstacles to Free Software adoption in Finland, most notably debunking false information spread by pro-Microsoft sources.
