Norbert Preining
Mathematician and Logician by study, working currently at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Started to get involved with TeX Live as compiler on Alpha around 2003. In 2005 packaged for the first time TeX Live for Debian (up to that time all distributions used teTeX). Since then packaged TeX Live 207, 2009, and currently 2012 for Debian.
Over the years became involved in TeX Live development, rewrote the whole TeX Live infrastructure in perl, and provided the TeX Live Manager for online updates.
