The webinos project has investigated the use of XMPP as its messaging protocol. Part of this effort was presented last year during FOSDEM. Especially in the area of large scale (‘massive’) service discovery progression is made. We present a qualitative and quantitative comparison between our webinos-specific XMPP extensions and other M2M paradigms. Included is a sneak preview of our upcoming scientific paper on this subject, as well as a Proof of Concept that demonstrates the webinos approach.
