Lessons learned from creating pleasurable libraries like RQ

Creating libraries is easy. Creating libraries that are pleasurable to write and use is another thing. This talk will discuss RQ (a simple job queue library for Python) as an example of the latter.

Creating libraries is easy. Creating libraries that are pleasurable to write and use is another thing. This talk will discuss RQ (a simple job queue library for Python) as an example of the latter. After introducing the project itself, I'll make a brief reflection on the reasons for its existence, its history, and the key design principles that were applied when shaping the project. You might even learn some RQ along the way!
