Juan David González Cobas was born in Avilés (Spain) in 1968. He holds a MSc in Mathematics. As an early adopter of GNU/Linux almost from its inception, he had the opportunity to participate in several Open Source software projects,the most relevant being the Yafray raytracer now known as Yafaray.
After 13 years in the Computer Science Dept. of Oviedo University (Spain), he was appointed in 2009 to his current position as coordinator of the device driver development activities in the Hardware and Timing section of the Beam/Controls group at CERN.
