Ian speaks about the factors that are making ubiquitous virtualization possible, as well as its advantages.
Hypervisors are set to become ubiquitous on PC hardware, built-in to every server, and ultimately, every laptop too.
The open source Xen hypervisor is at the forefront of this movement, its architecture making it ideally suited for embedding in firmware and providing highly secure and efficient virtualization.
This talk looks at the hardware and software factors that are making ubiquitous virtualization possible, and discusses the benefits that virtualization brings to both data centres and personal computing devices.
Pratt will give a status update of the Xen project, and talk about some of the cool new things that are on the roadmap.
