FOSDEM '08 is a free and non-commercial event organised by the community, for the community. Its goal is to provide Free and Open Source developers a place to meet.

Debian Developer Room

Room: AW1.125

Debian is a free operating system.

The project currently uses the Linux kernel, but work has been underway for quite a while now to support other kernels, such as the GNU Hurd and some of the BSD kernels.

Debian comes with more than 18000 packages of precompiled software, ready to be used and all free.

Sessions at FOSDEM 2008 have been recorded on video and are available from the following URL: http://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2008/fosdem/
