| Guenter's life is full of related computing stuffs :
in 1989, he was using Commodore Amiga, programming 3d graphics, games and a small oberon compiler in pascal and modula-2
during 1995, it was Abitur
in 1996, Guenter started studying Informatik (computer science) at Stuttgart University hoping to finally finish that in spring 2003 (working on his diploma theses)
between 1997 and 2000, he worked for a small software company (C++ and Java programming, mostly network and gui programming)
in 1998, Guenter worked on a graphical font manager written in tcl/tk (student's project at university)
1999 will see the start of contributing to livid / oms; he first focused on the gui, later on audio/video synchronization and software-only playback
during 1999 to 2002, he worked as a Tutor (student teaching assistant) for the computer architecture departement at stuttgart university)
year 2000 on LinuxTag 2000, the decision is made to start the xine project since it became apparent that oms has different objectives. xine is first planned as an experimental test framework.
since 2001, Guenter is working as a systems administrator for the computer architecture departement (workstation/server cluster of ~50 gnu/linux, solaris and windows machines)
