Stefan Seyfried
Stefan Seyfried is working as a software engineer in the Team Mobile Devices for SUSE Nürnberg.
He first joined SuSE in 2000 as a Systems Administrator where he got in contact with internal clients that wanted to use notebook computers. After going astray for almost a year as a consultant for a small software company in Chemnitz in 2003, he rejoined SUSE shortly before 2004 in the QA and the Mobile Devices department. Today he is working in the Mobile Devices department, most of the time trying to get some machines to wake up from suspend and trying to integrate all the cool stuff on the layers that are between the kernel and the desktop environment.
Most of his contributions can be found in the powersave daemon, in pm-utils and of course in the suspend.sf.net userspace suspend tools, namely s2ram. Other areas of interest include all things Bluetooth and UMTS / 3G networks. He also sometimes sends the occasional trivial kernel patch and maintains numerous software packages for SUSE.
In his spare time he is hacking on the tuxbox.org project for satellite TV set-top-boxes, of course running Linux.
