He is responsible for marketing Sun's successful and active developer community built around the source code for the Java SE Platform. As part of his role, Rich helps to develop the strategy and market positioning for Sun's recently announced initiative to open source its Java SE implementation. He is part of the Java SE marketing team and a member of Sun's Open Source Group, a team of marketing professionals tasked with creating and implementing Sun's open source software marketing strategy.
