Holger Macht

Holger Macht is working in the team "Mobile Devices" at SUSE and deals with power management, docking station support and kernel ACPI drivers.

Holger Macht is a long term Linux enthusiast. He joined the SUSE development team in 2003, doing an apprenticeship as software engineer until beginning of 2005. After that, he has been working in "Team Mobile Devices" as full time employee from July 2005 to September 2006, working on power management, docking station support, general laptop software integration and, last but not least, kernel ACPI drivers. Alongside to his work at SUSE, Holger is currently enrolled at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, studying computer science.

Holger is involved in several project regarding power management and laptop integration, like HAL, the powersave daemon, suspend, pm-utils, dockutils, the Maemo Music Player Client or the Linux kernel. Lately, he has been doing some research on the EnergyStar specification and measuring power consumption of laptops.
