Andrew Hughes

Andrew John Hughes is a PhD student at the University of Sheffield.

He started using GNU/Linux in 1998, and as his sole OS in early 2002. His central focus over the last three years has been Free Java and the GNU Classpath project, along with associated upstreams, such as GCJ, the Mauve test suite, Kaffe, JamVM, Cacao and Jikes RVM.

He has also recently been involved with the OpenJDK community, leading to the creation of two new projects, IcePick and BrandWeg.
