KDE on Windows

This talk will give an overview about what has been achieved wrt. KDE on Windows and what can be expected in the future. It will also explain how we do the developments under Windows, which things are similar to Unix, which things are different, and how people can start to hack on KDE on Windows.

In the talk you will see how simple it is for end-users to install KDE on Windows. Some known KDE programs will be shown in action and compared to their windows counterparts. Then we will look at our development process, and how we had to adapt that to the new Windows platform.

We will see which major problems we were facing, and how they were solved, and we will have a look at the remaining problems, which still have to be fixed.

In the last part we will explain how our staging and distribution infrastructure for the KDE binary packages under Windows works, and we will give a hands-on introduction into compiling KDE programs on windows by your own.
