Ondrej Babec
About me
My name is Ondrej and I am passionate about almost everything that takes place in the world of IT. I spend most of my free time watching, fixing, or driving cars, so if you are a car or bike person we will have a lot to talk about.
Besides that, I have a beard and I am pretty tall so I suppose that I am pretty easy to be found. I am open to having a conversation with anyone and learning something new or giving anybody some advice.
Career
I have completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Technology in Brno. This year I am finishing my masters at the University of Thomas Bata in Zlin (Faculty on IT - specialization on security both IT and physical). Besides studying I have been working in Red Hat as a quality engineer and team lead for almost 6 years now on various projects: * Enmasse * PatrIoT * Debezium <3
Presence
Currently, I am mostly working on * Debezium project which I find very interesting and I love working with the whole community around it. * Skodjob project, this project was created some years ago by me and my colleagues David Kornel, and Jakub Stejskal. It contains various tooling for long-running test environments on the Openshift environment together with database performance tooling.
Other than that, I am still trying to find time to work on some of my older projects like Rust MQTT which was the first Async Rust MQTT client for embedded devices at the time.
