Richard Brown

Richard Brown is from England but currently lives in Nuremberg in Germany, and is employed as a QA Engineer by SUSE, as well as Chairman of the openSUSE Project. Involved in openSUSE/SUSE since 2003, Richard has contributed to various aspects of the project, including supporting users on IRC, testing/bug reporting, packaging, marketing, ambassadors and artwork.

Richard has used SUSE/openSUSE since 2003, finding himself helping out more and more as time went on.

In 2013 he joined SUSE to work as a QA Engineer & Technical Lead for openQA. Since 2017, he now works as a Linux Distribution Engineer in SUSE’s Future Technology Team, working on various distribution projects including openSUSE Kubic. In addition he is Chairman of the openSUSE Project since 2014.

He has done most work with openSUSE’s GNOME, Marketing, and Artwork teams, and generally causing trouble by trying to fix things wherever he think he can.

He also spend a lot of time in openSUSE’s IRC channels on irc.freenode.org under the name sysrich
