Phil Weir
Phil is a Belfast-based web developer with a background in maths. He has worked in engineering software, Antarctic physics and is an enthusiastic Belfast LUG member. Several years ago, believing that business decision-makers too often view open source only as a consumable resource, he set up a company to challenge that idea. With other members of the Belfast LUG and NI small businesses, a syndicate was started, Avata Industries, to expand that idea further.
