Andrea Barberio
Software and systems developer, interested in distributed large scale systems, networking, firmware development and security.
In my day to day job I work on open source firmware development, testing, integration, upgrades and deployment. I coordinate with a diverse group of people from multiple companies (see https://linuxboot.org). In particular I work on LinuxBoot at Facebook, for which I aim at making LinuxBoot available to as many accessible platforms as possible for the public.
For LinuxBoot, I created in my spare time systemboot (https://systemboot.org), fiano (https://github.com/linuxboot/fiano), Go library for dhcp (https://github.com/insomniacslk/dhcp), and some other project, that are now used by various multinationals interested in open source firmware.
Before LinuxBoot I worked on Facebook's bare-metal provisioning automation, and on their DNS infrastructure. Previously I worked on Amazon's active network monitoring, a set of systems capable of finding and remediating network failures and misbehaviours in near-realtime. A related open source project of mine is Dublin Traceroute (https://dublin-traceroute.net).
I also maintain or contribute to many other open source projects, some of which are mentioned on my home page, https://insomniac.slackware.it or on my github page, https://github.com/insomniacslk .
