FOSDEM - Press & Promotional http://archive.fosdem.org/2007/taxonomy/term/9/0 en Call for volunteers http://archive.fosdem.org/2007/support/call-for-volunteers
During the FOSDEM weekend we'll welcome several thousand visitors, requiring a lot of volunteers to make their visit as nice as we can. Are you interested in helping out?

"What can I do?", you might think. Well, a lot:

Greeting/helping visitors, handling donations, providing information, moderating talks, assist the speaker, guarding our precious equipment, setting up, translating, calling taxis, being praised for the wonderful event you're helping to organize, ... The list goes on. You will be assisted by a couple of experienced volunteers who know the ropes from previous editions.

So, if you'd like to help out during the weekend of 23-24-25 February, even for a few hours, please let us know at volunteers@fosdem.org.
Press & Promotional Thu, 01 Feb 2007 09:15:23 +0100 floris 47 at http://archive.fosdem.org/2007 How to promote FOSDEM http://archive.fosdem.org/2007/support/promote
Hereafter you will find some FOSDEM ads and banners - feel free to use them to promote the event.

These are some flyers to print and banners to add to your personal (or FOSS project) website in order to reference FOSDEM.

Feel free to use them to promote the event and send us an e-mail so we can talk about you as well!

Our news page has an RSS feed. As such, we think it is important to keep access to the event free.
It is organised by volunteers who don't get paid and don't have commercial interests in the event.
However, as one might imagine, organizing such an event costs a lot of money.

The main characteristic of FOSDEM is that it is a non-commercial event. To keep it that way, we think the best way to fund the event is to ask for support from the open source community on a voluntary basis.

Donators Return

We're asking you to support the event by making a voluntary donation.
As a return to donators, various prizes will be given by us and our sponsors.

The draw works dynamically: for every multiplication of 25 EUR, your chance to win one of the prizes below will increase (example: with 100 EUR you have 4 times more chances to win than with 25 EUR).
Note that you have to donate at least 25 EUR to participate to the draw.

2 high-performance Sun Ultra 20 workstations (sponsored by Sun Microsystems)

3 FOSS-powered Nokia N800 devices (sponsored by Nokia)

20 international Hakin9 magazine subscriptions (sponsored by Hakin9)

20 international Linux Magazine subscriptions (sponsored by Linux Magazine)

20 GNU/Linux Magazine subscriptions to french-speaking donators (sponsored by GNU/Linux Magazine)

20 MISC magazine subscriptions to french-speaking donators (sponsored by MISC)

Other gifts are given for donations depending on the amount of money, to each donator:

25 EUR or more: a FOSDEM T-shirt !
