First Main Track slides available

We have noticed that the FOSDEM entry on Wikipedia is severely out of date.

Since we are too busy organizing the conference at the moment, we would like to ask you, dear visitor, to help out with updating the entry for us.

If you happen to have five minutes between talks or in the hacker room, head over to Wikipedia and fix our entry!

LPI exam registration closed

For logistical reasons, the LPI exam registrations for FOSDEM have been closed.

For last minute participation, contact Klaus Behrla (who runs and oversees the exam sessions) directly, in the exam room (Lameere).

Video Recordings

Like previous years, there will be a video recording team (NamurLUG) covering FOSDEM. They will be recording the main tracks in Janson and Chavanne.

Please, be careful:

to be quiet next to the video camera
to avoid walking in front of the video camera

The videos will be made available as soon as possible. The team will try to encode a few videos during the night of Saturday, but it is not sure that all the files will be uploaded on Sunday. Nevertheless, all the videos will be available at most one week after the event.

Pre-FOSDEM beer event - this Friday!

This Friday, 2007-02-23, we will gather at Le Roy d'Espagne on the Grand Place in Brussels for the traditional pre-FOSDEM beer event.

If you're in Brussels Friday night, please join us for a beer or twelve from 17:30 onwards!

Keysigning event: PGP/GPG key list published

As announced earlier, there will be a keysigning event at FOSDEM 2007.

If you are participating in the PGP/GPG keysigning, you must now:

Download the list of keys.
Verify that your key fingerprint is correct.
Print the list of keys.
Calculate the checksums, as detailed in the list, and fill them in on the designated spots.
Don't forget to bring the list and some proof of ID to the key signing party next week.

If you do not have your own list of keys with your own checksums, you will not be able to participate in the keysigning party!

LPI adds MySQL 5.0 certification exams

LPI will also offer FOSDEM visitors to pass the MySQL 5.0 certification exams (administrator and developer):

MySQL 5.0 Developer I
MySQL 5.0 Developer II
MySQL 5.0 DBA I
MySQL 5.0 DBA II

The price for the MySQL 5.0 exams will be € 85,-, which is a 50% discount, for all FOSDEM visitors

Exam candidates for MySQL exams must obtain a MySQL certification ID from the MySQL website instead and must also bring valid photo identification (as well as their MySQL certification ID number) to the exam events.

Just like the candidates for LPI-exams, people can register now at http://lpievent.lpi-german.de for MySQL exams.
All other rules are the same as with the LPI exams.
