News Screenshot Automation in KDE

Sander Koning

The old phrase 'A picture says more than 1000 words' applies to the handbooks
that accompany KDE programs no less than to other texts. Unfortunately,
recreating screenshots in another language, to go with a translated handbook, is
a lot of work. Therefore, a script is introduced that tries to automate
screenshot creation to take this work away from the localisation teams.

News Better Looks for KOffice -- Thoughts about the Interface

Sander Koning

To play a major role as an office suite, one does not only need functionality and interoperability. Users need a clear and consistent interface (dialogs,
menus, toolbars, etc.) so that they can intuitively do what they want to do.
We try to find out what we should and should not keep in the current KOffice
user interface, in order to improve the user experience for the next version as much as possible.
