As some of you might know, the Open Source and Free Software Developers' European Meeting will take place saturday the 3rd and sunday the 4th february 2001 in Brussels. It began as a modest initiative, but has grown fast as the support and interest of contacted developers was important.

Until now, we were not sure to have the means to organise this event, but as we have agreed on a partnership with VA Linux, we have a solid base on which we can stand. It is now sure we can welcome the following developers in good conditions in Brussels: fyodor, Jeremy Allison, Richard Stallman, Kevin Lawton, Phil Thomson, Mathieu Lacage, David Faure, etc, ... Zoals sommige van jullie al weten zal een samenkomst van Open Source en Free Software ontwikkelaars plaats vinden in Brussel op zaterdag 3 en zondag 4 februari 2001. Als bescheiden initiatief begonnen, is het snel gegroeid naar een grote gelegenheid dankzij de grote interesse en de steun van de gecontacteerde ontwikkelaars.

Tot voor kort bestond er onzekerheid rond de organisatie van deze event, maar door een partnership met VA Linux te sluiten zijn die onzekerheden geheven en kunnen we nu op een sterke basis rekenen. We mogen er nu zeker van zijn de volgende ontwikkelaars in goede omstandigheden te kunnen ontvangen:fyodor, Jeremy Allison, Richard Stallman, Kevin Lawton, Phil Thomson, Mathieu Lacage, David Faure, etc, ... Comme certains d'entre vous l'auront peut-etre deja entendu, une réunion européenne de developpeur Open Source et Free Software sera organisee a Bruxelles les samedi 3 et dimanche 4 fevrier 2001. Alors qu'il s'agissait d'une initiative plutot modeste au depart, le succes et l'intéret recontré aupres des développeurs contactés a fait prendre une ampleur inattendue a cette organisation.

Jusqu'il y a peu, nous n'avions pas la certitude d'avoir les moyens pour organiser cet evenement, mais le fait d'avoir conclu un partenariat avec VA Linux donne maintenant une base solide sur laquelle s'appuyer. Il est maintenant certain de pouvoir accueillir a Bruxelles dans des conditions correctes les developpeurs suivant: fyodor, Jeremy Allison, Richard Stallman, Kevin Lawton, Phil Thomson, Mathieu Lacage, David Faure, etc, ...
